**Please click on our organization name "Circle P Sanctuary and Ranch" for more information on adoption policies and fees** ____Koty History____ Koty came to us, along with another horse named Honey, from a case through the local humane society. She was given the body score of 2.5 by The Ohio State University's equine veterinary team (9 being extremely obese and 1 being completely emaciated). She was covered in a skin fungus and mud. ___Koty Current_____ Although she was a bit skittish at first, Koty has become more friendly and trusting towards humans already. Although still nervous around people at times, a gentle hand and patience are the perfect way to gain her trust. Already she has accepted standing for the farrier, standing in the stall for grooming, catching and leading from the pasture, and lunging on a line. Other daily activities such as putting a flymask on and de-worming took a few days of repetition and rewarding, but now she also calmly accepts those things as well. She has responded well to desensitizing and trust building exercises as long as you do not push her to act too quickly. ___Koty Future___ Koty is currently being trained under saddle and has responded well to groundwork training. She behaves well for the farrier and chiropractor and to be groomed in her stall. A veterinarian examination has shown no reason why Koty cannot become a wonderful riding horse and companion with proper time, training, and patience. She would do best with a person willing to put the time into her training to fully gain her trust. Koty is a athletic horse who may do well with an athletic rider and/or barrel racer once she has been broken under saddle.
